WALL, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- The term 'Christmas miracle' gets thrown around a lot, but in this case it may be appropriate.

A New Jersey man has his dog back, over a year after it was stolen from his car.

Volunteers at the Richmond Animal Care and Control Shelter in Virginia returned a Yorkie named Buddah to his owner in Wall Township.

The owner, a man identified as John T, was on vacation in Virginia when the dog was stolen. The dog was found wandering and taken in as a stray. Workers at the shelter scanned him for a chip, and sure enough they found the owner.

Shelter volunteers hopped in their sleigh and headed for New Jersey for a happy reunion with the owner.
