WASHINGTON DC (1010 WINS) -- While controversy has swirled around Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Republicans have been asking why democrats don't seem concerned about congressman Keith Ellison.

Ellison is running for Attorney General of Minnesota, and two women have accused him of domestic abuse.

Now, Democratic Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii is calling for an investigation.

"I make no excuses for anybody who engages in this kind of behavior, and as far as Keith Ellison, these allegations need to be investigated and appropriate action taken," she said.

Ellison is the deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee. He denies the allegations and says they are politically motivated.
