Delta worker killed at JFK after being hit by a tug, airline launching investigation

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Delta Airlines has launched an investigation into the death of one its tug operators at JFK Airport who was killed Wednesday after being hit by a tug, the Atlanta-based carrier said.

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey said the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. at the airline's massive Terminal 4 hub.

"The Delta team is grieving today following the loss of one of our own," Delta said in a statement. "We are extremely saddened by the passing of a JFK below-wing employee and have extended our full support to his family and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time."
