De Blasio visiting New Hampshire, still considering presidential run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Bill de Blasio talked about the possibility of a presidential run on “Good Day New York” as he got ready to set off for New Hampshire this weekend.

De Blasio is planning to visit Manchester and Claremont, where his wife Chirlane McCray’s mother was born.

De Blasio said he would not step down from his role as mayor if he decides to seek the 2020 Democratic nomination.

His family would need to be on board with a run in order for him to opt in, de Blasio reiterated.

“Whatever decision we make, we're going to make it together,” said de Blasio, “Chirlane and I do everything together. We’re a partnership, we're a team, we love each other, we want to do whatever we do together.”

Early polling has not been favorable to the mayor, but that did not seem to dissuade him.

“I have never paid attention to polls, or I wouldn't be sitting here,” he said. “It’s not where you start, it's where you end.”
