De Blasio Heading To SXSW, City Hall Says Taxpayers Won’t Foot The Bill

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio is heading to the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.

He'll be gone for five days in all and will first make a stop in Baltimore, where he'll address a strategy summit of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Then it's the weekend in Austin. De Blasio will meet with the U.S. Conference of Mayors and take part in a panel discussion at the festival. After that, a stop in Washington for the League of Cities Spring Conference.

City Hall said the trip will cost $8,000 and taxpayers won't be footing the bill.
