NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for the man who stabbed another man multiple times at a deli in Manhattan, leaving him in serious condition.

It was among the latest incident of violence at a deli in the city—two bodega workers recently died when they were shot in separate, unrelated incidents in the Bronx.

The 57-year-old victim was at Joe’s Gourmet Health Deli on Broadway in Morningside Heights early Saturday morning when he got into an argument with the attacker, police said.

The attacker stabbed him a number of times before fleeing the scene, according to police.

The victim suffered internal injuries and was rushed to Mt. Sinai/St. Luke's Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Jose, who works at his brother’s pizzeria next door to the deli, said there was a violent robbery there recently.

“They shot my nephew here last year. It is very dangerous, this neighborhood, now,” he said.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect on Sunday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
