Manhattan-based “boutique production company” Bunny Lake Films’s video clinched the top spot in the contest, with a video entitled “We Heart New York" (see above).

Natalia Bougadellis and Emory Parker took second place, with a video called “You Can Still Smile.”

Approximately 186,000 people voted on the five videos that were selected as finalists, according to Cuomo's office. His daughter, Mariah Kennedy Cuomo, oversaw the contest.

“We asked New Yorkers to create ads about the importance of wearing a mask in public, and we received over 600 video submissions from across the state,” she said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who submitted ads, who voted, who shared ads, and helped spread this important message that it’s absolutely critical to wear a mask in public,” she added.

In his own statement, the governor said the contest “generated much more energy and excitement than I even anticipated.”

“The tremendous level of participation demonstrates that people understand that a mask can be the difference between life and death,” he said.
