NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Gov. Cuomo rallied in Nassau County Sunday, reiterating his intent to make New York’s property tax cap permanent.

Cuomo was accompanied in New Hyde Park by several Nassau County officials.

The governor’s office says the 2 percent property tax cap currently in place saved more than $24.4 billion during the six years it has been in place.

Long Island Republican Congressman Peter King is in support of the tax, “It’s a state issue, but I support it. We have to get the state taxes — income taxes, property taxes — under control. I support the governor on that, yeah.”
