NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The MTA wound up with a mess on its hands after taking 500 station cleaners off of overnight shifts.

The left stations covered in broken glass, vomit, and other things you'd rather not step in, and morning cleaners were forced to tidy things up during rush hour.

"I don't think it's clean. I see like trash and stuff, cans, bottles, food wrappings," Benna said.

"Pizza boxes, coffee cups," fellow R train rider Mike said.

With crud on the tracks and trains, the MTA will bring back the subway cleaners, 1010 WINS' John Montone reported, hopefully N and R will no longer stand for 'nasty' and 'revolting.'
