March 01, 2018 - 1:05 pm

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- There's at least one dangerous coyote on the loose in Hastings-On-Hudson.

Village police are urging people to stay out of wooded areas and specifically hillside woods.

The warnings come after a dog was killed, and three people were bitten by a coyote.

One attack occurred on Overlook Road, the other on Kent Ave at around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Earlier in the day another coyote was fatally struck by a car.

"We just ask anyone that has any information, or sees anything to call us immediately," Hastings-On-Hudson Police Lieutenant David Dosin said.

People are being urged to keep pets inside, and keep a sharp watch on dogs when walking them. Officials are also asking parents to pick kids up and drop them off by vehicle before and after school.

Anyone who sees a coyote is being asked to call 914-478-2344.
