NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Masters tournament and the Boston Marathon have been postponed amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The Masters had been scheduled for April 9 to 12 at Augusta National Golf Course in Georgia.

In a statement, Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley wrote: “Considering the latest information and expert analysis, we have decided at this time to postpone the Masters, the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals.”

The 124th Boston Marathon has also been postponed, officials announced Friday.

"The Boston Athletic Association understands the city's decision that the marathon cannot be held on April 20, and we offer our full support to take all efforts to postpone until September 14, 2020," the Boston Marathon tweeted.

All NTT IndyCar Series events have also been canceled through April.
