CORONAVIRUS IN NJ: Death toll climbs by 140 to 9,255; 1,503 new cases, total nears 140K

    NEWARK (1010 WINS) – Gov. Phil Murphy said Sunday that New Jersey had recorded more than 1,500 new cases of the coronavirus since Saturday, with the total number of cases nearing 140,000.

    Murphy said there were 1,503 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 138,532.

    Of those cases, 4,308 were hospitalized and 1,338 were in critical or intensive care, while 994 were on ventilators.

    Murphy said the state’s death toll had climbed by 140 since Saturday. A total of 9,255 people in the state have now died from COVID-19.
