NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for the boyfriend of a woman after she and her teenage son were found brutally killed, possibly with gym weights, in their apartment in the Bronx Sunday.

The bodies of 51-year-old Marisol Ortiz and 14-year-old Alanche Delorbe were found early Sunday afternoon in their apartment on East 185th Street in Belmont.

Sources tell 1010 WINS that coworkers of Ortiz called her family to check in on her after she didn’t show up for work Sunday. Family members discovered the body.

The sources said gym weights were found near their bodies and that they’re believed to be the murder weapon. Both victims were found with head trauma and sources say Ortiz had also been stabbed in the head in what may have been a domestic incident.

The aunt of the Alanche Delorbe came to the building in shock Monday. She said the boy’s birthday was Monday and that he would have turned 15.

Ortiz was not married and her son’s father lives in the Dominican Republic.

Delorbe’s cousin said she didn’t know whether Ortiz had a boyfriend.

“We’re trying to figure that out right now,” she said.

A neighbor said he used to see the boy playing baseball.

“My mind right now is bad because that was a young kid and it’s really sad to see things like that,” he said.
