NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is asking for help tracking down a man who tried to abduct a toddler in Brooklyn.

Cops say he went up to a 3-year-old sitting in a stroller outside of the Thanksgiving Supermarket in Gravesend. They say he grabbed the stroller, and started pushing it down the street. The boy's grandmother gave chase, and the suspect gave up. He left the boy and the stroller behind as he took off westbound on 86th Street near 22nd Ave.

"That guy's a nutjob, I mean how do you just walk up to somebody and just take their kid like that, this guy should be locked up," he said.

The suspect has been described as being between 25 and 40-years-old, wearing a black hat and a hoodie.

Anyone with information has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
