NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in identifying a group of crooks who have been hitting cell phone stores in the city.

Five men are being sought in connection with as many as 11 robberies of cell phone stores in Midtown.

The stores were all over the neighborhood: West 34th Street, West 57th Street, Greenwich Street, Fifth Avenue, Lexington Avenue and other spots.

The first robbery was back on Nov. 30 and the most recent was Saturday.

Police say in each incident the men would grab display phones from the stores.

They’ve made off with more than $25,000 worth of phones in total, police say.

One robbery on Dec. 11 netted them nearly $4,000 in phones, according to police.

Police identified one of the suspects as 17-year-old Timothy Adams (pictured below).

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
