NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man is dead after being attacked by another man who authorities say was irate over being unable to satisfy a drug craving.

The 63-year-old man was walking Brownsville, at Junius Street and East New York Avenue, when cops say he was knocked to the ground and kicked.

Sources tell the Daily News that the suspect disputed that claim, and said he 'ran right through him.'

The man reportedly confessed to running through the victim, not out of anger towards him, but because he couldn't get his hands on the drugs he wanted.

The victim was able to get up and walk away, but didn't make it far before collapsing.

Charges against the suspect were pending Tuesday morning.
