FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- Cops in Franklin Township, New Jersey suspect some local teenagers were responsible for a crime which could have taken a very tragic turn.

It happened around midnight on Sunday. A 35-year-old woman was driving on Willow Ave when she spotted lawn chairs blocking the street. It was an apparent attempt to get drivers to slow down, and it worked.

When she slowed the car, a rock came flying through the passenger window, barely missing her young daughter.

"I was not sitting here, if the rock -- it didn't get on my face," the girl said.

"Where the rock hit the seat in the front is exactly where her face was in the back," the mother explained.

Anyone with information about the teens involved is urged to contact police at 732 873 2300.
