NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mayor De Blasio was criticized at the vigil for 25-year-old Aurilla Lawrence. Lawrence was killed Thursday night after being struck in Williamsburg by a tanker truck that never stopped.

Community members called out the mayor's vision zero plan, which is aimed at ending traffic deaths and injuries in New York City, saying that it's been turning a blind eye to cyclists.

"Where are you Mr. Mayor? Why aren't these changes happening? Why aren't they happening now." one cyclist stated.

De Blasio spokesman Seth Stein said “We are deeply saddened by any loss of life on our streets.”

Lawrence is the fifth cyclist to be killed on a city street this year.
