City Dispatches Workers To Remind Park Goers Not To Feed The Rats

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- If you're in the habit of feeding rats, Mayor Bill de Blasio would like you to stop.

The city now has workers in 30 parks around the city who are tasked with informing people that rats have been seen, are a health hazard, and shouldn't be fed.

Not everyone thinks this is the best use of city workers' time. One guy in Tompkins Square Park told the New York Post that he'd prefer the city step up its trash collection instead.

Another woman was even more blunt.

“I don’t know what warning people about rats in New York City will achieve.” Chelsea Casey said.
