NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Amazon got a great deal from City Hall and the state of New York -- the deal that convinced the online giant to put one of its secondary headquarters in Long Island City.

But some people think that deal was a little too good and the City Council is looking into it. A hearing is taking place Wednesday and protesters are at City Hall today to make their displeasure known.

The council doesn't have the authrority to kill the deal, but several members, includng Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer, who represents Long Island City and has been a vocal opponent of the plan.

"I am steaming mad that the governor and the mayor have decided to throw Jeff Bezos almost $3 billion in subsidies and tax breaks.

Van Bramer said he hoped to get answers from both the city and Amazon.
