NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will have an official portait painted, but it will cost Garden State taxpayers plenty.

'The Record' reports Australian artist Paul Newton will paint the portrait at a cost of $85,000. They say that's more more than the cost of the portraits of his three predecessors combined.

New Jersey taxpayers shelled out $74,000 for three paintings of former governors Jon Corzine, Richard Codey and Jim McGreevey.

The newspaper says the price was obtained through an open records request.

Newton will paint the portrait in January.
