Chef Boyardee recalls products for misbranding, undeclared allergens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Conagra Brands, Inc. has issued a recall for approximately 2,871 pounds of their chicken and rice Chef Boyardee products for misbranding and undeclared allergens.

According to the USDA, the products failed to declare that they may contain milk and wheat on the product label.

The products are also labeled as chicken and rice despite containing beef ravioli products.

A release from the USDA describes the recalled items as "7.5 oz. canned microwavable bowls of “Chef BOYARDEE rice with chicken & vegetables” on the label, and a package code of 210090151050045L, and ‘BEST BY’ date of Jul082020 on the bottom of the bowl."

The products were produced and packaged Jan. 16, 2019 and shipped to retail locations in Florida, Kentucky and New York.                                 

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.
