Cardi spent her Thursday night, handing out coats to kids and their parents near the Marlboro Houses.

ABC7 reports, there were hundreds of people lined up chanting 'where is Cardi B' as they waited for the Bronx born rapper to arrive.

“The kids love her, everybody loves her. And we just want to see her,” said one father who called the giveaway great for the community.

It's not the first time Cardi's presence has been felt in the borough. Her videos for Red Barz and Pull Up on Me were both shot in Brooklyn.

“I want these kids to learn from me that you got to give back to the hood,” she told reporters, “These kids follow me, these kids listen to my music... You know, sometimes people think that we just be doing the messed up things, but we really, really, really care for our kids, our community and everything.”

Cardi was later given a key to the Marlboro Houses, and a belated birthday celebration.
