NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 13-year-old girl was accidentally shot by her 14-year-old brother in Queens early Tuesday morning, according to police.

The boy and his friends were playing with a gun in Baisley Pond Park in Springfield Gardens when it fired just before 1 a.m., say authorities.

The bullet ricocheted off a garbage can and hit his sister in the lower back, officials say.

The boy was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

The sister was taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens in stable condition.

The brother and his friends are being questioned.

Neither the brother nor the sister has yet been identified.
