Brooklyn Teenager Fatally Shot In Alleged Gang-Related Attack

July 16, 2018 - 1:37 pm

A Brooklyn teenager was killed Saturday in what appears to be a gang-related beating and shooting.

At around 5 p.m. on Saturday, the NYPD says it responded to a call of a male shot near of Fountain Avenue and Blake Avenue in East New York.

Upon arrival, officers found Justin Richey, 16, about half a block away, unconscious and unresponsive nearby with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

According to The New York Post, citing unnamed sources, members of the Bloods street gang attacked Richey, whose brother is an alleged Crips member.

After jumping and pummeling him, someone from the group pulled a gun and started shooting, the newspaper said.

EMS responded and transported Richey to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
