NYPD commander allegedly threatened life of 50 Cent

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Brooklyn precinct commander is reportedly being investigated for threatening the life of rapper and actor 50 Cent.

Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez allegedly made the threat during a stationhouse roll call last June, according to The Daily News.

He told officers that if they saw 50 Cent at a NYPD-sanctioned boxing match in the Bronx, they should “shoot him on sight.”

A month before issuing that threat, Gonzalez filed an aggravated harassment complaint, claiming that 50 Cent threatened him on Instagram.

In response to the report, on Sunday 50 Cent called Gonzalez “a dirty cop abusing his power.” He said that he is taking the threat “very seriously” and that he is consulting with his legal counsel.

The NYPD told 1010 WINS that the matter is under internal review.
