Brooklyn Man Arraigned In Deadly Package Bomb Attack

March 01, 2018 - 1:21 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Brooklyn man was arraigned Thursday on federal charges of using a weapon of mass destruction in a fatal porch bomb attack in July.

Victor Kingsley was charged for allegedly planting a bomb in package that killed a 73-year-old man in Queens last summer.

Kingsley, 37, was arrested Wednesday in East Flatbush.

The victim, George Wray, was not the intended target. Police said Kingsley was trying to kill a police officer that he incorrectly believed lived in the house where Wray was the landlord.

Authorities said Kingsley was seeking revenge after being arrested by that officer and others. They said bomb-making materials were found inside Kingsley's home that he allegedly ordered on Amazon, Al Jones reported.

Bail was not discussed, but a federal prosecutor told a judge she could not imagine a scenario where bail would be appropriate, Jones reported.
