LAFAYETTE, Ind. (1010 WINS) – An Indiana dispatcher is getting praise for helping out a boy with an emergency – a homework emergency.

The little boy called 911 to tell cops he had a bad day and was having trouble with his math homework.

“I just have tons of homework,” the boy says. “And it’s so hard.”

Dispatcher Antonia Bundy reminded the boy that 911 is only for emergencies, not tutoring, but then she stayed on the line and helped him out with some fractions.

In the end, the boy apologized for ringing 911.

“I’m sorry for calling you, but I really needed help,” the boy said.

“You’re fine we’re always here to help,” Bundy said.

The Lafayette Police Department recognized Bundy for being a dedicated employee and released audio of the call, saying they get a lot of unusual requests but this one really stood out.
