Boy, 10, killed after car crashes into Brooklyn scaffolding

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 10-year-boy was killed after a vehicle crashed into a building with scaffolding in Brooklyn on Tuesday police said. 

At approximately 2:48 p.m., a grey Lexus SUV travelling northbound on Ocean Avenue veered to the right and mounted the sidewalk at Avenue L striking 10-year-old Enzo Farachio who was standing by the bus stop police said.

Police believe a medical episode may have caused the driver to crash.

After striking the victim, the SUV struck the scaffolding in front of 1673 Ocean Avenue. 

Upon arrival, they found the victim with severe neck and back trauma.

EMS transported him to New York Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead officials say.

Two people in the vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries and rushed to hospitals officials said.

Police say that the collision caused the scaffolding to collapse.

Multiple videos on Citizen App site show the area taped off and first responders on the scene. 

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
