Officer Matthew Grogan was on patrol at 9 a.m. on November 25, when he was called to the scene of an armed robbery.

The victims, a Franklin Square family, said they had been robbed of $80,000 and that the suspect was trying to flee the state.

Grogan put word out over the radio, and the suspect's cell phone was traced to an area near LaGuardia Airport. Grogan alerted his brother Kevin, a Port Authroity cop at LaGuardia, where they eventually found the suspect's car along with a loaded semi-automatic handgun. The suspect was arrested as she tried to board an American Airlines flight to North Carolina with $67,000 in tow.
