Former Embattled Fox News Exec Officially Joins White House Staff

July 05, 2018 - 1:29 pm

Former co-president of Fox News and Fox Business Channel Bill Shine has officially been named Deputy Chief of Staff for Communication for the White House. He will also assume the title of Assistant to the President.

"He brings over two decades of television programming, communications, and management experience to the role," the White House said in a statement Thursday.

Although the announcement was made Thursday, CNN reported that he began working in the White House this week. He also reportedly is slated to join the president on his upcoming trip to Wyoming.

At least four lawsuits brought against the cable news network allege Shine, who left Fox last year, was former network head Roger Ailes' chief protector through years of sexually harassing female employees.
