The world's biggest comic store will be open for four days and four days only this October. That's right, it’s time once again for the annual New York City Comic Con! Meet, greet, take your picture with and get autographs from more than 100 actors and other celebrities from television, movies and the web. Attend talks and panels with the people who make comics and bring them to life on screen. See their work and chat with nearly 500 of the world's top comic book artists and writers. And when it comes to cosplay, New York City Comic Con is just one big four-day long parade!

NYCC is a True City-Wide Event

From 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 through 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, New York City is comic book heaven, and host to all things any fan of the comics can imagine. Most of the action happens at the Javits Center, a massive convention center famed for hosting Toy Fair and many top national and international trade shows. A lot of events take place off-site, in Madison Square Garden, the Manhattan Center, Hudson Mercantile, and Shop Studios . A separate Anime Fest and Anime Expo will be running concurrently at Pier 94 on the river. For those who don't know their way around the greatest city in the world, get out your maps, guidebooks, phones and pads and plan out your days.

There is something happening at any given moment at New York City Comic. Actually, there are many somethings going on at once all over town from Oct. 4 through Oct. 7. There are scores of panels, film screenings and video game demonstrations to take part in or watch, as well as sneak peeks of new movies, television shows, web series, comic books and even toys.

Don't forget to visit Artist Alley, where nearly 500 of the world's top comic book writers and artists will be showing off their work and talking to fans.

The World's Biggest Comic Book Store... and more

While many people come to New York Comic Con to meet and greet the stars and the artists who make the comic book stories they love, others come to shop. With more than 1,250 vendors, New York City Comic Con is easily the world's biggest comic book store – at least during four days in October. And it’s not just comics that will be on sale, but all things related to comics, from books and games to toys and DVDs, along with costumes, artifacts and all sorts of collectibles.

While New York City has some of the greatest food in the world, convention goers need not leave the Con to find food and beverages. There are scores of food stalls offering everything from burgers and fries to shakes and sushi. And there is also plenty to drink, especially for those 21 and over, as most of the city's craft breweries also have stalls. Stop by the Brooklyn Brewery booth, whose Defender is the official beer of the New York City Comic Con.

And Don't Forget Anime!

While there are many people to see and things to do, it wouldn't be a Comic Con without anime. This year, New York's Anime Fest & Anime Expo will be held concurrently over at Pier 94 on the river. This separately ticketed four-day celebration of all things anime, including tons of artists, cosplayers and guests of honor, is not to be missed!
