Assault of Hasidic boy, 9, being investigated as possible hate crime

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 9-year-old Jewish boy was punched several times in the face while walking in Brooklyn in what police are calling an unprovoked attack.

He was wearing Hasidic clothing at the time and the NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the attack.

The boy was heading home Sunday evening in Williamsburg when someone punched him in the face several times, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, 14 to 18-years-old, approximately 5'6" tall, medium build, weighing 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie with a black patch on the sleeve, dark colored jeans and white sneakers.
