NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is on the hunt for a man who impersonated a police officer and robbed a man at gunpoint in the basement of an apartment building in Flushing, Queens.

The NYPD said in a press release, "the unidentified male forced his way into a basement apartment in a building located within the vicinity of 45th Avenue and Robinson Street.  Once inside, the unidentified male approached a 35-year old male who was installing a boiler at the location, displayed a firearm and produced what appeared to be a police shield around his neck before demanding the victim’s property.  The unidentified male then removed a bag, jewelry, an iPad, cash and clothing from inside of the location before fleeing."

Police released video of the unidentified male fleeing the location and entering a 2 door silver sedan.
