PEMBERTON, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a 4-year-old boy who gained access to an unsecured handgun in a New Jersey home died after an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police and emergency medical personnel called to a Pemberton Township home shortly after 7 p.m. Friday found Lincoln Mack with a gunshot wound.

He later died at a hospital.

Prosecutors said the investigation indicates the boy gained access to an unsecured handgun and the shooting was accidental.
