AOC compares Republicans to possessed girl in 'The Exorcist'

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez revealed she sleeps on a mattress in an unfurnished D.C. apartment -- and also compared Republicans to the possessed girl in "The Exorcist" -- during an Instagram live video Wednesday night.

“I’ve been living like a completely depraved lifestyle,” the firebrand congresswoman joked about her digs, according to the New York Post.

AOC touched on a lot during the hour-long live video in which she sipped wine and assembled IKEA furniture while showing viewers around her apartment. She said her home is still not furnished because she’s been so busy.

“I got sworn in Jan. 3 and today is April something and I still don’t own a chair,” she said to her thousands of viewers, according to the Independent. “Until today, when I got a folding chair delivered to my apartment.”

She also compared climate change deniers to people who opposed the civil rights movement in the 1960s.

“People who are trying to mock and delay this moment, I mean, I just feel bad for you. I just pity you for your role in history right now,” she said.

She also answered why she thinks her political foes dislike her.

“The reason Republicans hate me so much is because I confront them directly on their lack of moral grounding on so many issues,” she said, according to the Guardian.

She said Republicans are "so upset and they act like that girl in 'The Exorcist' that’s vomiting pea soup."

"The reason that they do that is because they need to fiercely protect a paradigm and way of thinking that says short-term gains are more important, no matter how marginal, than any long-term loss and any long-term cost," she said.
