NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo and girlfriend Sandra Lee have split after 14 years together, the couple confirmed Wednesday.

“Over the recent past, we have realized that our lives have gone in different directions and our romantic relationship has turned into a deep friendship," the couple said in a joint statement.

They added, “We will always be family and are fully supportive of each other and dedicated to the girls. Our personal lives remain personal and there will be no further comment.”

After Lee put a house in Westchester County she and Cuomo share on the market, rumors swirled that they had called it quits.

But at the time, Lee said they were "very much together."
