Amtrak worker train derails outside of Penn Station

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An Amtrak worker train has derailed just outside of Penn Station according to NJ Transit.

NJT says that the train derailed due to a mechanical issue with the Amtrak train.

There are no immediate injuries reported from the incident.

NJ Transit tweeted that an Amtrak train derailment was impacting service at Penn Station.

The derailment is forcing some trains to be redirected to the station in Hoboken and will impact bus service.

NJ Transit rail tickets and passes are being cross-honored by PATH at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street.
