NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Just one day after it was confirmed that an employee at the Amazon warehouse on Staten Island died of coronavirus, the company confirmed on Wednesday that another one of its warehouse workers, this time in Waukegan, Illinois, also has died of coronavirus.

“We are saddened by the loss of an associate at our site in Waukegan, Illinois,” Amazon spokesperson Lisa Levandowski told CNBC in a statement. “His family and loved ones are in our thoughts, and we are supporting his fellow colleagues.”

According to CNBC, the 50-year-old father-of-five worked the night shift.

He was last at the facility on March 19, at which point he hadn’t reported any symptoms, Amazon said, adding that it became aware that he had tested positive for coronavirus on March 24.

As for the Staten Island employee, a similar statement was issued by Amazon's Levandowski on Tuesday: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of an associate at our site in Staten Island, NY. His family and loved ones are in our thoughts, and we are supporting his fellow colleagues."

The employee, who was not identified, was last at the facility on April 5.

On April 11, the employee was confirmed to have coronavirus. He was quarantined.

There have been other cases at the facility, but it is believed that none of the cases are related to each other.

Amazon is offering support and counseling to employees.

Aside from the deaths on Staten Island and in Illinois, there are two other known coronavirus-related deaths, both in California.
