Ocasio-Cortez takes Democratic lawmakers to social media school

WASHINGTON (1010 WINS) -- Democrats on Capitol Hill are looking to their youngest co-worker to get hip to social media.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jim Himes of Connecticut hosted a session of the House Democratic Policy & Communications committee on Thursday morning.

"Perks of being in the Democratic Caucus: I will be teaching a Twitter class tomorrow morning open to all members," she tweeted on Wednesday.

They taught fellow lawmakers how to tweet, Instagram, and Facebook the way they do.

Ocasio-Cortez has captured national attention with her social media posts which include videos of herself dancing, a behind-the-scenes look at congressional orientation, and Q and A sessions.

A video of Ocasio-Cortez dancing and firing back at critics recently went viral with 20.5 million views.
