NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday for allegedly punching a man over a parking dispute on East 10th Street near Fifth Avenue, in front of his Greenwich Village home.

The actor was taken into custody shortly before 2 p.m.

He faces third-degree assault and harassment, both of which are misdemeanors.

Baldwin was spotted leaving the Precinct around 4 p.m.

1010 WINS has reached out to Baldwin's representative for comment.

TMZ, citing law enforcement sources, reported, "The other man swooped in on the parking spot Alec was apparently planning to take for himself,"

Police say Baldwin claimed he had a family member holding the spot when the man driving a station wagon pulled up and took it.

An argument ensued and Baldwin, 60, then punched the man.  A witness told TMZ Baldwin yelled "F*** off!" during the fight.

Police received a 911 call at 1:35 p.m. from in front of 28 East 10th Street from a man who said he was pushed and hit in the neck. The 49-year-old victim was taken to Lenox Health Greenwich Village with jaw pain.

President Donald Trump weighed in on the arrest, telling reporters Friday afternoon, "I wish him luck."

And his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., tweeted, "Is anyone shocked at this piece of garbage anymore? As if the phone calls to his daughter weren’t bad enough. He’s a lib so he gets chance after chance to be decent but always fails!"
