Rackover, the adopted son of a well known jeweler, was found guilty of murder in the stabbing death of 26-year-old Joseph Communale of Stamford, Connecticut.

It happened at a luxury apartment in Sutton Place following a night of partying, when they reportedly had an argument over drugs.

Communale's body was buried in a shallow grave by Rackover and an accomplice. He had been more than a dozen times in the chest, and his legs were burned, the criminal complaint said.

An informant told authorities that Rackover had put a large duffel bag in a black Mercedes which was later caught leaving Manhattan via the Holland Tunnel -- a cadaver dog indicated that there was a body or bodily fluids in the trunk. The investigation turned up bloody clothing, sheets, and towels in Rackover's apartment.

Rackover is the adopted son of celebrity jeweler Jeffrey Rackover. He was found guilty on charges of second degree murder, hindering prosecution, and concealment of a human corpse.

Prior to the Communale murder, Rackover had a record that included burglary and DWI charges in New York and Florida.
