85-year-old woman pushed to the ground, robbed outside UWS apartment, 2 sought: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An 85-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and robbed outside of her Upper West Side home Saturday, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. near West 74th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, officials say.

According to police, the victim was going into her building when two females approached her from behind, shoved her to the ground and stole her purse.

The two suspects fled, running down 74th Street.

Officials said the victim was carrying cash, a cellphone and her ID in her purse. They estimated the total value of property stolen to be $3,200.

The victim refused medical attention.

The two suspects are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s.

Police say one suspect was wearing all dark clothing. The other was seen wearing a dark sweatshirt, blue pants and a green wig.
