8-month-old dead days after being found unresponsive in Bronx bathtub

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An 8-month-old child died last Monday after being found unresponsive in a Bronx bathtub, police announced Tuesday.
The case is being treated as a homicide.
Police responded to a 911 call at 1579 Vyse Avenue in the Murphy Houses on July 3 at approximately 6:32 p.m.
Officers came upon an 8-month-old female, identified as Amelia Belle Perez, unconscious and unresponsive in a bathtub in the apartment’s bathroom.
EMS took Perez to St. Barnabus Hospital in critical condition, before moving her to Montefiore Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on July 15.
The mother has been questioned.
There have not been any arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
