June 12, 2018 - 4:14 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 73-year-old man who had recently won a $10,000 lottery prize was found stabbed to death in his Bronx apartment.

The victim's fiancée made the gruesome discovery around 8:30 p.m. Monday when she returned home to the third-floor apartment they shared at 352 Beekman Ave. in the Mott Haven section.

Owen Dillard had been stabbed multiple times in the neck, police said.

Police say there was no forced entry into the building and no weapon was found.

Robbery is a possible motive, according to police who are continuining to review surveillance cameras from the area.

Dillard was a longtime resident of the five-story building and was well-known in the neighborhood.

Those who knew him said he recently won $10,000 playing the lottery and would regularly hand out money to those in the building who needed it.

"Every kid that walked by he gave money to, randomly. What kind of man does that? He would give his coat, anything, whoever it was," said longtime friend Michael Milner. "That was an angel ya'll took."

No arrests have been made.

Police have been hanging posters looking for the public's help in tracking down Dillard's killer.
