NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Sixty-two people were arrested at a climate rally at City Hall Wednesday morning, Patch reported

The New York chapter of Extinction Rebellion was behind the protest.

Some of the protesters climbed light poles and dropped banners. Others lied down in the street.

Sixty of the arrests were for disorderly conduct and two for reckless endangerment.

There was a total of 150 protesters there.

According to the group's website, the purpose of the rally was to "demand that our government #Tell the Truth about the impacts and urgency of climate change and to pursue policies designed to reach zero emissions in the city by 2025."
