5 shot in shooting at notorious Queens nightclub

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Five people were shot early Saturday at a nightclub in Richmond Hill with a history of violence, police say.

Bullets started flying at the Rose Lounge on 130th Street after a fight broke out just before 4 a.m. Saturday, according to police.

A man pulled a gun and dozens of panicked patrons stampeded into the street.

Five people were hit by bullets – four women and a man, according to police.

Assistant Chief David Barrere said three of the victims were hospitalized.

“Victims range in age from 23 to 35 years old and have been transported to area hospitals, where they’re being treated for non-life-threatening injuries,” Barrere said.

Some neighbors say it’s not the first time shots were fired near or at the club.

The club’s liquor license was suspended after an April shooting, records show.

Police say they've been to the club 10 times since it opened.

The shooter, meanwhile, was still at large Saturday.

“Detectives are processing the crime scene. They’re interviewing witnesses and victims, they’re reviewing and collecting video evidence,” Barrere said.
