NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Four women were killed in a fire at an apartment building in the Bronx Tuesday night, authorities said.

The fire broke out around 7:30 p.m. in an apartment on the sixth floor of the building on the Grand Concourse, near East Mount Eden Avenue, in the Mount Eden section. It then spread to neighboring apartments.

Citizen App video shows flames pouring out of a top floor apartment and thick smoke rising above the area.

Four women—two in one apartment and two in a second apartment—were killed in the fire, authorities said.

Among the victims was 70-year-old Maribell Turner, a nurse practitioner, her sister told the Daily News. Tuner’s niece also died in the fire, she said.

A space heater may have caused the fire, sources told the Daily News.

A fifth person suffered minor injuries in the fire, according to authorities.
