NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a 33-year-old man was fatally shot at a Brooklyn gas station Sunday morning.

At approximately 8:55 a.m., officials discovered Micheal Ingram shot in the chest at the BP gas station located at Pennsylvania Avenue and Linden Boulevard.

His sneaker and jacket were found laying nearby.

Ingram was transported to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A 9mm handgun believed to have been used by the victim to shoot at his attacker was found near him

 Several rounds were found nearby and authorities believe the victim exchanged shots with another man in the gas station, according to a report from amNewYork.

The suspect(s) escaped in a white Mercedes Benz SUV north on Pennsylvania Avenue with the driver's side window which was blown out by the victim. 

Detectives are examining surveillance video from the gas station and surrounding stores. 

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
