3 people killed when SUV hits utility pole on LI

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) Three people were killed last night when their SUV struck a utility pole in the town of Mount Sinai on Long Island Monday night.

Police say the car was traveling north on Mount Sinai-Coram Road near Hamlet Drive at about 11 p.m. when it left the roadway.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The driver and two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims’ identities have not yet been released.
